Flooring

Floors levelled, laid and finished to last.

Engineered and solid hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate and tile. Subfloor levelling and moisture checks come before installation, not after the first squeak.

What Holds A Floor Down

A floor is only as flat as the subfloor underneath it. Most call-backs we get asked to fix trace back to that step being skipped, so it is the step we never skip.

Materials

Five materials, chosen for the room they go in.

Light oak engineered hardwood planks

Engineered Hardwood

Real wood veneer over a stable core, so it moves less with the seasons than solid hardwood.

Refinishable once
Radiant-heat safe
Dark walnut solid hardwood planks

Solid Hardwood

Sanded and refinished for generations. The right call for main floors that will see decades of use.

Refinishable many times
Species options
Light oak-look luxury vinyl plank flooring

Luxury Vinyl Plank

Medium-tone laminate flooring

Laminate

A high-resolution wood image over a dense core. The most floor for the budget, installed floating.

Budget friendly
Scratch resistant
Charcoal hexagon tile flooring

Tile

Porcelain and ceramic for bathrooms, entries and mudrooms, set with proper waterproofing underneath.

Fully waterproof
Radiant-heat rated
How An Install Goes

Four stages, in an order that does not change.

Installer measuring and marking a plank
01

Assess the subfloor

Moisture readings, flatness checks and a look at what is already down. This is what most quotes skip.

Tool finishing a subfloor before installation
02

Level and prep

Self-levelling compound where the subfloor calls for it, old adhesive and staples cleared, and a moisture barrier set down where needed.

Installer nailing down a hardwood plank
03

Install

Planks racked for a natural pattern before a single one is fixed down, expansion gaps set at every wall.

Finished hardwood room with natural light
04

Finish the transitions

Thresholds, stair nosing and baseboards fitted last, so the floor reads as finished from every doorway.

After Installation

Three habits that keep a new floor looking new.

Control the humidity

Keep indoor humidity between 35 and 55 percent. Wood floors gap in winter and swell in summer more than most people expect.

Felt pads, always

Every chair and table leg. A dragged dining chair does more damage in a year than foot traffic does in a decade.

Skip the steam mop

Steam and standing water are the two fastest ways to void a finish warranty. A damp microfibre cloth is enough.

★★★★★

They levelled a subfloor two other quotes had ignored. Three years on there is still not a single squeak in that room.
